The Royal Conservatory of Music

When students come to me for piano lessons as a fresh beginner, I like to use Faber and Faber's Piano Adventures as my main curriculum.  After laying a firm foundation in general music skills (such as note reading, rhythms, dynamics, expression), I move my students to the next level.

The RCM Program is an international program with a world wide body of students participating.  The curriculum is well balanced and offers clear direction for the student and teacher alike.  It uses classical music of all eras to develop your student into the best pianist they can be.  It focuses on Reportoire, Technic Skills, Ear Training and Sight Reading.

Along with piano requirements there are also theory co-requists.

Many of my students participate in the exam system.  We are fortunate and have a local center right here in Nappanee.  Theory exams are offered three times a year and our piano assessments are hosted mid-May.  During the pandemic, RCM stepped up big-time providing online theory and piano exams.

These three boys were awarded the High Score for their center and/or the State of Indiana.  Bravo!
