About Me

I am a native of Calgary, Alberta – located in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies.  My husband and I have four adult children and reside near the small town of Etna Green, Indiana.  Our family activities keep us busy, along with responsibilities at our church.  We love living in Indiana close to extended family and in such a great community.

I studied piano from age 8-23, culminating with my ARCT piano teaching diploma (Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto).

I began teaching when I was 16 years old and still love it.  I share my music at church with our worship choir and am a member of our orchestra/band for our annual Christmas and spring cantatas. I have also accompanied for our High School's musical, weddings and other special events.

Over the years, I have attended many state wide music teacher conferences hosted by IMTA.  I have had the honor to serve as President and Vice-President on the board of our local chapter, GEMTA.   In 2015, I was honored  to receive the "GEMTA Member of the Year" Award.

I am very involved with the Royal Conservatory of Music.  Many of my students participate in this international assessment program and have received various awards such as the Highest Score in the State.  In 2019, one of my pedagogy students received a Gold Medal for Highest Score in the nation.  Several of my students have had the honor to be invited to play in the Celebration of Excellence Recital hosted in Chicago.  I serve as the Center Representative for our local RCM exam center.

Professionally I have had the opportunity to host college pedagogy classes from both Goshen College and IUSB.  They visit my studio to observe my teaching and see an example of an independent piano studio.  I have been a member of teacher panel groups at piano pedagogy conferences, guest speaker at local chapters and have judged both regional and state piano competitions.  I feel very blessed both professionally and personally.
